FountainTRT FAQs

Do I need to go to my regular doctor first?

You don’t need a referral for Fountain. You can get started right now by taking the Low T assessment, and Fountain providers will take it from there. Your Fountain provider will be happy to update and communicate with your regular doctor at your request.

Where is Fountain available?

Fountain is currently operating in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.

We will be expanding to other states in the near future.

When will I start feeling results?

While we can’t guarantee any specific results, most men start to experience improvements in symptoms within 3-6 weeks of starting treatment. Some men report improvements almost immediately, especially if their baseline T levels are very low. Your Fountain provider will want to make sure your T levels and symptoms respond appropriately to treatment and will structure follow-up care to meet these goals.

What if I want to cancel?

You can cancel at any time.

Am I guaranteed to be accepted to use Fountain?

At Fountain, we strongly believe that every man with symptoms related to Low T deserves to be evaluated and given the information necessary to take control of his own health. We also strongly believe that TRT is not the right choice for everyone.

The Low T Assessment is the first step in making this determination. The purpose of the Assessment is to make sure that you meet basic eligibility criteria. The criteria include confirmation that you have symptoms associated with Low T and a medical history that does not preclude TRT. If you qualify, based on your completed Assessment, you will be able to speak with one of our expert medical providers.

The trial period is designed to offer you a detailed evaluation by a Fountain provider - a medical provider who specializes in men’s health. Your provider will order and review lab tests. If your lab results confirm that you’re a good candidate for TRT, we’ll make sure that you understand the risks and benefits. You will have the opportunity to ask questions directly to your provider in a video visit. If you and your provider make a shared decision that TRT is right for you and you want to try it, then an initial prescription will be written and your ongoing care will be optimized.

How does the telehealth consultation work?

Our goal is to make the TRT process as easy as possible for you at every point, and that includes your telehealth consultation. After your lab test, you’ll be able to view an online calendar and choose an appointment date and time with a click. You’ll then receive a link via email and/or text that you can easily add to your personal online calendar.

At the scheduled time, just click the link to enter a real time, two-way video visit (similar to Skype or FaceTime). Your link will be secure and unique to your visit - no special password is needed.

Who will I see for my appointments?

One of the reasons that men with Low T often go untreated is that there are few doctors who specialize in the condition. We want to remove barriers to access so you can be evaluated, and potentially treated, by a medical provider with the right expertise and specialized training.

We know the profound, life-changing benefits that TRT can bring to men with Low T. We also know that taking control of your health is serious business. Our goal is to connect you with an expert Fountain provider who 1) truly understands your symptoms and concerns, 2) is completely comfortable answering all of your questions, 3) will educate you about potential risks and benefits of treatment options based on medical literature and significant prior experience working in the field, 4) will maintain ongoing communication and follow up visits to ensure that your ongoing treatment is safe and effective, and 5) be a good listener and pleasant for you to work with.

Is Fountain safe?

Every medicine has risks and benefits. We want to make sure that you completely understand all relevant risks and benefits for your particular situation. While TRT is generally safe for most men, there can be serious side effects related to its use.

The risks of treatment are summarized in the terms and conditions of use and you will discuss them with your Fountain provider before any prescription is written. If you are prescribed TRT, the package insert sent with your medication will also include a review of the risks of treatment.
